Introduction
A Heartrune is essentially an ultimate ability in Brand-new World Aeternum. Once you acquire obtained the item you can equip it much like a weapon. Open your inventory and drag it to the appropriate slot. Once you have it equipped you can then make use of it like an ability. There are several different types in the game, and each include unique abilities.
You can earn your first one, the minor version of cannon blast, by completing the quest “Secrets of the Heartgem.” This quest can be obtained from Anna Rozsa who is located at the Palace of Nekhbet, and will launch you to them and how they work. This is a side quest that will grow available once you have reached level 62.
All Heartrunes and Their Use
There is only 1 rune type for the Minor and Major rune categories. However, there are a total of 27 Runes in their legendary shape. There are 9 different types of runes and 3 categories for each rune. The categories simply change the perks connected with each Rune.
Heartrunes under gear score 700 can be upgraded at a stonecutting station.

Inspiration
“The inspiration for Fire Storm came from the Empyrean Forge Expedition,” Josh said. “The entire theme of the release is Fellowship & Fire and we definitely wanted to lean into the fire portion of it. We initially started by examining various attacks performed by the enemies within the Expedition to see if any of them would be a good starting point for what we wanted to achieve. For this one though, many of the enemy attacks weren’t exactly what we were going for or felt too similar to attacks or abilities that players could already do, so we leaned into coming up with something a bit more unique while utilizing the theme of fire.“
