Worlds smallest teddy bear

One of my favourite things to do is to share Cedric’s adventures with children via readings.
I had a lot of fun just before Christmas reading online to a organization of Brownies in Leeds. They really enjoyed listening to an extract from the story, Cedric in Paris, which is about the Pet Paralympians and the big race, Le Grand Dash.
Here’s Anne’s illustration of Minnie and Chen, two of the competitors.
After the reading, we had an interesting discussion about disability. I was so impressed by the girls I met and my admiration for the Brownies is boundless! What a amazing organisation*.
Please get in touch with us via the site if you would like us to do a reading at your school/organisation.
We’d be delighted to oblige!

Whilst this is a fairy tale and true it is about you. Each of us is capable of extraordinary things if we have the courage to be proud of ourselves and not be frightened to try to be everything we can be.

The tiny toys were sewn inside out, turned through, stuffed and then jointed so that they moved. This is the proper way to make a real teddy bear and has been ever since German bear maker Richard Steiff, nephew of famous Margrete, invented the teddy bear in 1902.
Here is the new famous German bear maker. Her name is Bettina Kaminski.
Bettina knitted for thirty years and had been collecting dolls for twenty two years when she put the two together in 1999 and started a miniature knitting supplies shop on the Internet. She was soon making micro jumpers that were bought by a miniaturist who uttered the magic word: Miniatura.

I am sure it will show up as no surprise to you that teddy bears hold a variety of world records, but in case you are not up to date on these amazing statistics, we thought it might be fun to review some of them for you.
One thing you must maintain in mind however, is that world records are meant to be broken, and while we are reporting on the most recent information available to us, it is entirely possible that some of these records possess already been challenged and awarded to someone recently.
If you are hoping to achieve a world record in the eminent Guinness Book of World Records, be aware that it can take months to get it accepted and approved by Guiness, then it may be several additional months before the unused annual issue is printed.
Whether the records we are proofreading now are still intact may be in question, but they are still rather impressive, none the less.
