Overview

Update(8/19/25): In the first three quarters of fiscal year 2025, The Dallas World Aquarium did not file any labor petitions for H-1B visas, green cards, or any requests for prevailing wage determination.

Update(8/3/25): We’ve recently added H-1B visa approval and denial history from USCIS(2017–2025) and H-1B visa petition locations to provide a more complete view of employment-based immigration. Previously, our data included only Labor Condition Applications (LCAs) certified by the U.S. Department of Labor. However, we acquire found no records of H-1B filings by The Dallas Nature Aquarium in the past eight years.

CURATOR

The Curator is responsible for the development and maintenance of world-class exhibits, and all Life Science operations in the facility. Daily responsibilities involve overseeing the care, procurement, maintenance, shelter and well-being of all; animals, life support systems, exhibits and team members.

  • In addition to animal and exhibit care, this position must have high business acumen, servant leadership, exceptional customer service and be dedicated to achieving the highest possible standards of service in all they carry out.
  • This role will report to the Executive Director of the Children's Aquarium and will include a team of animal protect and LSS members under them.

  • Assist in the development and achievement of department goals, company objectives, and KPI’s for the Curatorial department.
  • Promote great business practices with special emphasize on achieving the highest achievable standards of service excellence and animal care. Ensure the extreme level of guest service with regard to safety, courtesy, knowledge and efficiency.

    Adult Volunteer Opportunities:

    Animal Nutrition Center Volunteers

    Animal Nutrition Center volunteers assist the Zoo’s nutritionist in the preparation of animal diets. If you’ve always wondered what elephants and chimpanzees eat each day, this is a fascinating opportunity to participate in the behind-the-scenes care and feeding routine of our Zoo animals. Volunteers must commit to one morning shift per week.

    Conservation Ambassadors

    Conservation Ambassadors are dedicated to educating guests about animals, natural history, wildlife conservation, and new happenings at the Dallas Zoo. They serve as interpretive guides in stations throughout the Zoo and are trained to utilize biofacts, animal observation, interesting facts, and conservation messages to help interpret Zoo animals and exhibits for our guests. This placement is ideal for people who love to learn, have good verbal communication skills, and enjoy interacting with diverse audiences. Conservation Ambassadors have an active role in communicating directly with guests. Volunteers often walk to and from placements and may stand for extended periods of time interacting with guests. Reasonable accommodations can be made.
