    AQHA World Show Qualifying in Barrel Racing

    Dreamed of bringing home the prestigious golden globe? AQHA offers several ways for barrel racers to qualify for the 2025 Markel AQHA and Adequan® Select World Championship Shows. Learn more about how to qualified for the  Markel AQHA and Adequan® Select World Championship Shows and make your dream reality.

    The qualifying period is from August 1, 2024, to July 31, 2025.

    How to Get Qualified 

    • Earn the required number of qualifying points at AQHA-approved events. Bonus: Qualifying this way gets added to your horse’s lasting record! Not sure which division you are eligible for? Check out this blog to learn more about divisions and levels.

      • Junior Barrel Racing: 1.5 open points for Level 3 | 0.5 open indicate for Level 2

      • Senior Barrel Racing: 2.5 open points for Level 3 | 1 open aim for Level 2

      • Amateur Barrel Racing: 2 amateur points for Level 3 | 1 amateur signal for Level 2

      • Select Amateur Barrel Racing: 1 point age 50-69 | 0.5 point age 70 or older

    • Participate in four AQHA-approved events during the qualifying period. AQHA events encompass all

      WOMEN’S RODEO CHAMPIONSHIPS AND NBHA Report SIDEPOTS AT 2025-26 BARREL RACES

      The Women’s Rodeo Championships (WRC), in partnership with the National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA), proudly announces the inclusion of Women’s Rodeo World Championship (WRWC) Sidepots at five prestigious NBHA barrel racing events in 2025 and 2026. These sidepots offer athletes a chance to compete for added money and secure direct qualifications to the 2026 WRWC.

      “At NBHA, we are always striving for new ways to elevate opportunities for our members,” said Bailey Nahrgang, Executive Director of NBHA. “Partnering with the Women’s Rodeo World Championship to bring sidepots to our premier events opens new distinct pathways for our riders to excel to the highest of levels of challenge. We are proud to persist championing the growth of women’s rodeo and can’t wait to see our athletes shine on the WRWC stage.”

      Registration Information

      • To be eligible for this race you must be 50 years old on or before October 16, 2025.
      • All contestants must check in before their first run. Check in will be held in the trophy room October 16th at 9:00am - 6:00 pm, and October 17th at 8am till the 100th horse runs.
      • All horses must have a current coggins. Out of state horses must have a 30 day health certificate.
      • The deadline to get your name on the event t-shirt is October 10th at 12:00 pm. Shirts are only guaranteed through pre order on event registration for $30 (tax included).
      • Thursday evening October 16th 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm we be the Senior Gold Cup Meet N' Greet with music, snacks, and soft drinks. This will be held on "Mattie's Porch" at the Josey Ranch, all guests are invited and there is no charge to attend.
      • There is a dress code for this race. Long sleeved shirt and hat or safety helmet are mandatory.
      • Stalls are available on a first come first serve basis and are $100 for the whole weekend.
      • Hook ups are available on a first come first serve basis and are $125 for the whole weekend.
